Day 1 Result Updates - Inter IIT Sports Meet Kanpur 2016
Day 1 was a great day for Kanpur. The results were impressive as we took strides towards our target, with not even a single sport team losing their match. Detailed results are -
-- Athletics ---
Kanpur bagged Bronze in Triple Jump, 4th in Shotput, and 2 runners qualified to finals of 100m and another 2 in finals of 800m winning their heats.

--Badminton --
Men - IITK vs IIT Roorkee, our team won 3-1
Women - IIT Kanpur vs IIT Hyderabad, Kanpur won 2-0

--Basketball --
Men - IIT Kanpur defeated IIT Guwuhati with a score 74-55

-- Cricket --
The team bagged a huge victory over IIT Madras, winning by 5 wickets and the Man of the Match was Nitin Sharma, who played impressively.

-- Football --
IIT Kanpur vs IIT Roorkee Score 0-0 (Draw) : The team played with great coordination and the well fought match ended with a draw.

-- Lawn Tennis --
Men - IITK won against Gandhinagar, and the Women team beat the defending champs IIT KGP in straight sets.! Great game by the players.!

-- Squash --
IIT Kanpur Squash team decimated IIT-BHU winning all three matches, with three sets ending with a score of 11-0.!

-- Table Tennis --
The Boys team beat IIT BHU comfortably in their first match.

-- Volleyball --
The Men team did great and defeated IIT Madras 3-0 and the IITK Women team beat IIT Ropar 3-0.
